Help People In Need Of Food

"I am a disabled young adult with a wife and 2 children under the age of 2. NHCO has helped me so much in the past year. Since I am unable to work, they have provided me with much needed food for my family (even the babies). At Christmas time, NHCO helped me provide my family with gifts and food so that it would be a holiday our family will happily remember."

"I have been volunteering every other Friday in the repack center of the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank for over 7 years. The employees and volunteers who work there do a fantastic job of sorting and boxing the many types of food that get donated there. I can honestly say that when I have left there after EVERY session over the past 7 years, I have ALWAYS felt better than when I walked in." - Kenny

Background

Although we live in a time when there is more food available than ever before, hunger is the leading cause of health problems.

Over 1 billion people, or about a sixth of the world population, are malnourished. And six million children die of hunger each year.

There are over 50,000 nonprofit organizations working to eliminate hunger and break the cycle of poverty - and you can help them do it. Whether you hand out food stamps, work at a food bank, or help at your local ministries, you, too, can make a difference.
